Nurses enter drain, urine and RT aspirate volumes by the hour in Lifemaan's input/output chart on the ward. Intake comes in from the treatment sheet and infusion pump, and total intake, total output and fluid balance are calculated for each hour and for the day, so the surgeon sees them on the round.
